Hotel Santa Croce

This converted ancient 12th century monastery offers great value for money. Located in a quiet street just over ½ mile from the city centre and a bit further from the leaning tower, it has been carefully restored to retain most of its original features. Despite its 2 star + rating this 2 storey square shaped building has an internal garden, with access to rooms from corridors running around its perimeter. All rooms are simply furnished and some are on the smaller side, as they were the original monks’ rooms! The hotel has an annex building attached, which houses more rooms of a similar standard. Continental Breaks fast is taken in the ground floor breakfast room; however, the hotel does not have a restaurant so you’ll need to venture out into the city of an evening to sample the delights of traditional Tuscan and Pisan fayre.

Villa Kinciza

Unbeatable location, right on the edge of the Piazza dei Miracoli, just a few steps from the Leaning Tower, this property dates back to the 18th century. The rooms are comfortable, medium sized and furnished with a ‘no frills approach’, perhaps a little less than you might expect of a 3 star hotel, however, with some original features well preserved during the renovation that transformed this Italian Villa in to the hotel you see today this still represents a great value hotel.

Hotel Terminus & Plaza

1960’s building located, as the name suggests, close to the railway station, so great for late night arrivals or early departures. Within easy walking distance of the lively ‘Corso Italia’ in the heart of the city, on the opposite side of the River Arno from the Leaning Tower, which is still easy to reach using public transport. Rooms are in excellent condition and tastefully decorated in pastel shades with air conditioning for those hot summer nights. Buffet style Continental breakfast is served in the hotels’ modern and spacious breakfast room. The lobby is elegant with marble flooring throughout. Overall, A good hotel in its class.

Hotel La Pace

This family run hotel is handily located on major bus routes for the Leaning Tower and a short distance from the railway station. The hotel’s entrance is a little hidden amongst the shops, however, once inside you are welcomed by the newly refurbished bar area, which serves a small selection of snack meals. The bedrooms vary in size and decoration; however, all are clean, comfortable and represent good value for money. The hotels’ 1st floor breakfast room boasts stained glass windows, which gives the area a special feel.

Hotel Repubblica Marinara

Located about ¾ mile outside the city centre, with good public transport links to the city and the Leaning Tower. A very modern hotel, first opened in 2003, this hotel has furnished and equipped its spacious rooms to a very high standard; each boasts individual climate control, in-room safe with natural wood flooring throughout – rooms are even soundproofed! The lobby is very welcoming with a comfortable seating area. Breakfast is served in the hotels restaurant, which also opens for lunch and dinner serving regional dishes.

Grand Duomo Hotel

Can you imagine a more stunning view to admire whilst relaxing over a glass of wine than overlooking the Leaning Tower of Pisa? At the Grand Hotel Duomo’s rooftop bar, you can do just that! This 1950’s building is located on the Piazza dei Miracoli just 100 metres from Pisa’s most famous landmark. The hotel has been undergoing a complete renovation (sectioned off floor by floor to avoid any disruption) due for completion during 2007. Bedrooms are large and in good condition. The hotels boasts a bar and lounge area overlooking the marble lined lobby. The modern restaurant is on the ground floor serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, serving both Italian and Tuscan specialities.
