Pisa Attractions

Leaning Tower of Pisa

This tower is characterised by its leaning to one side. The cathedral’s bell tower is also famous for its decorations documenting the construction of the tower.

 

Duomo

The Duomo (Cathedral), set in the Piazza del Duomo of Pisa, is an inseparable part of a marvellous four-piece ensemble of architecture that was built in the 11th century.

 

Campo dei Miracoli

This Cemetery, next to the Duomo, is a rectangular marble enclosure that contains an exceptional collection of Roman, Medieval and Renaissance antiquities.

 

Church of Santa Maria della Spina

The Church of Santa Maria della Spina is Pisa’s finest example of Gothic architecture and is situated on the south bank of the River Arno.

 

Piazza dei Cavalieri

This large, charming square opens unexpectedly from the back streets and was at one time the civic centre of medieval Pisa and headquarters of the Order of the Knights.

 

The Baptistery

The Baptistery,which is the largest of its kind in Italy, was constructed in two styles. The first three tiers are Romanesque while the layer supporting the dome is Gothic.
