Marrakech

Marrakech is truly the city of entertainment in Morocco, set in a spectacular beachfront location at the foot of the peaks of the Atlas mountains.

Visit the beautifully decorated palace of Dar Si Said, now a museum and marvel at the intricate tile-work, Andalusian Garden and displays of Moorish jewellery, ceramics and weaponry. Truly a treasuretrove of design that reflects the unique qualities of Morocco.

The world famous square, Jemaa el Fna, is home to a host of entertainers such as acrobats, pipe musicians, drummers and dancers … and you might even spot the odd snake charmer or two !! Lose yourself in the labyrinth of light and shade as you wander around the interesting alleys and small squares which are dedicated to a host of local crafts, where you can bargain for your goods in true Moroccan style.

There is plenty of choice for meals, including the spectacle of the Jemaa el Fna food stalls, many inexpensive cafes and restaurants and a number of upmarket restaurants which offer Morocco’s traditional cuisine at its very best. Take afternoon tea at La Mamounia Hotel, where Winston Churchill, Orson Wells and President Nixon have enjoyed the splendour and grandeur of this magnificent building.

Marrakech offers a city break experience that is both unique and exciting, a combination of tradition and truly mystical colour and sights.
