Hamburg Attractions

Port Hafen

Port Hafen is the largest port in Germany. Take a cruise along the Elbe River or visit the ‘Rickmer Rickmers’ museum on one of the old ships.

 

Chilehaus

This red brick building designed to look like the bow of a ship is an excellent piece of architecture. It is the most famous building created by the architect Fritz Hoger.

 

Town Hall (Rathaus)

This beautiful Neo-Renaissance sandstone building dominates the city centre. It was erected between 1886 and 1897 as the seat of the Senate and municipality of Hamburg.

 

Hamburg Art Museum

Consisting of three interlinked beautiful buildings, the Kunsthalle houses a fine collection of works from the 19th century and introduces its visitors to old and new forms of art.

 

Lutheran Church of St. Michealis

The church was originally built in the late 17th century, however was rebuilt in 1796 and 1906 due to lightening and fire. Enjoy marvellous views across the city.

 

Alter Elbtunnel

The Alter Elbtunnel, decorated with ornaments and tiles, links the district of St Pauli with the island of Steinwerder and was built for traffic, cyclists and pedestrians in 1907-11.
